Tracking

Tracking assesses a dog's ability to follow a scent trail (either human or animal) in a variety of scenarios. Labrador Retrievers are known to have quite the nose for this activity!

Scent tracks may be outside, through a variety of conditions, and even incorporate urban areas. The track is generally laid 3-5 hours before competition to "age" it, and depending on the competition type can vary from 400-1,000 yards in length with changes in direction and distractions.
